Endotoxin testing is crucial before progressing to clinical trials or administering treatment to patients on compassionate grounds. Ensuring the appropriate levels of endotoxin is essential for safety and efficacy. We measure endotoxin levels by qualitative gel clot LAL assay (Charles River). The gel clot LAL assay involves mixing the LAL reagent with the test sample in a tube, which is then incubated. If endotoxin is present in the sample, the clotting response by the LAL reagent is initiated.
